JEMS was started in the year 2002 in Coimbatore, TN, India, as a bridge school project for dropout kids in an area with both poor literacy rates and high crime rates. After starting with just a very few children, with God’s blessing, JEMS has already helped more than 1000 children, enabling them to return to regular schooling through this project.
Today JEMS works with children, youth, and women to improve their health, their education and their understanding of nature. In this area, children typically have no access to water, sanitation, or even play. By purchasing land and developing infrastructure, JEMS continues working with the children sharing the message of love through education and health programs.
